What is the best approach for entering the Greater London training market?

  • Leistung:Markteintrittsstrategie
  • Sektor:B2B-Dienstleistungen

Issue
As a relatively late entrant to the Greater London training market, a leading national training provider was looking to identify the best locations for establishing training centres for Childcare and Care for the Elderly in the region.

Approach
AMR’s approach was initially data driven, mapping out the clusters of employers – care homes and nurseries – and feeder schools which would provide trainees for the training centres. AMR took each postal area in the Greater London region and assessed the level of opportunity according to the density of employers, feeder schools and the level of competition from already established providers. AMR supplemented its data with qualitative interviews with experts from government agencies and leading training providers active in the Childcare and Care for the Elderly market to identify any gaps in coverage.

Recommendations
AMR rated each of the Greater London postal areas in order of attractiveness according to the density of potential employers and trainees and the presence of competitor training centres. Three potential sites were recommended to the client. These all had high potential employer and trainee volumes combined with a low level of competition. Furthermore, they offered excellent transport links within and outside of Greater London.

Result
The client has focused its strategy on setting up sites in the locations identified by AMR and will be entering the Greater London training provision market in the near future.
